About Andres

I believe that everything is possible if we set our minds to it. I dream of a world where business is conducted positively and ethically, making people's well-being and growth a priority and not what must be sacrificed to achieve results. Results are important, but how you achieve them matters too, and I believe success and decency are not mutually exclusive. I love learning and the challenge of turning obstacles and "failures" into opportunities for growth. I am persistent, resilient, and courageous when facing uncertainty. I'd rather try and see what happens than stay still, and I am usually the person who will speak about that which others think but are too afraid to talk about. I hope I can connect with you somehow!

About my Instructor Career:
I have more than eight years of experience developing and teaching courses about the art of sound for motion pictures at a postsecondary level.

About my Film Industry Career:

Burtt (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Wall-E, etc) at Media Sound Hamburg, Germany 2017
❖Best Sound Award Winner at Festival Internacional de Cine Ícaro XVII, Guatemala 2014
❖Founder of Optimus Sound, a sound postproduction for film studio.

As a sound-for-film professional, I have delivered more than 280 projects, amongst them Feature Films and International TV Series, some of these for Netflix and HBO. I've been invited as a panelist or jury in film festivals and related events.
I learned from the same professionals who have worked in movies like Star Wars, James Bond, Harry Potter, Sherlock Holmes, Wonder Woman, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, amongst others, most notably Randy Thom, director of sound design at Skywalker Sound and James Mather, supervising sound editor for the Harry Potter films. I specialize in dialogue editing and supervising sound editing.

About the lesson

I want to help you in your learning journey by making sure that you enjoy it and develop techniques/ideologies/skills that you can actually apply in your areas of interest. I want to know what your goals are (or help you define them), and adapt my teaching method to them and to your personal needs and preferences.

I am very good at truly helping people learn. I am not interested in you memorizing things, I am interested in you actually understanding them.
