About Jessica
I tutored professionally for the entirety of 2024 I’m year 9 English, year 10 science and year 12 biology. I also undertook some volunteer tutoring of younger students throughout high school. As part of my degree I’m the school for optometry and visionary science I have undergone police checks and child safety certifications. At my part time job as an optical assistant I often work with young people and have been trained in youth safety and supervision. Outside of work and university I enjoy going to the gym, hanging out with friends, reading a good book and choir with the Auckland Youth Choir. I believe that a balance between education and personal life is essential for success and happiness.

I teach mostly in person lessons or online lessons in special circumstances, I find in person lessons garner the best results. Providing NCEA prep through one-on-one lessons of a standard 1 hour length using a combination of professionally created online resources, personal knowledge and student provided resources such as school workbooks. Based on student needs and goals lessons will focus on completing school work and homework or working on extension material to prepare students for achieving higher grade points (i.e. merit to excellence level). I can also provide tutoring for junior year levels in preparation for senior school, however, lessons with any student younger than Year 11 will require the main point of contact to be with parents to ensure students are organized, attending lessons and completing any homework/additional work.
