About Valentina

I am Valentina, a Law with Politics undergraduate at the University of Manchester, currently predicted a First-Class degree. I provide tuition in GCSE English Literature, English Language, History, Religious Education, as well as A-Level Sociology, English Literature, and Government & Politics.

I am state school educated, having grown up in Hackney, East London. This background shapes both why and how I tutor: I believe every student deserves an equal chance at a high-quality education, delivered at a fair price, regardless of their background. For this reason, alongside subject tuition, I also offer guidance on university applications and career planning — from personal statements to interview preparation — drawing on my own experience of applying to Cambridge and being invited to interview.

My own academic record reflects the standard I aim to help students achieve: an A* in A-Level Sociology, an A in English Literature, and a B in Government & Politics, building the foundation for my continued study of law and politics at university level.

Alongside my degree, I bring a depth of professional and academic experience that informs how I teach:

- As a Youth Ambassador for the Attorney General's Office, I have contributed to the development of public legal education principles and presented proposals directly to government ministers.
- I represented young people on a delegation to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, engaging with senior figures including the President of the European Court of Human Rights.
- I have completed four legal internships and placements, giving me practical insight into the legal profession and how academic study translates into real-world careers.
- I continue to research and write on law, politics, and institutional accountability, ensuring that my tuition connects academic content to real-world application rather than rote learning.

I approach every subject with the same rigour I apply to my own studies: clear structure, precise reasoning, and a genuine understanding of what examiners are looking for. My aim is to help students not only improve their grades, but build the confidence, ambition, and analytical skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

With 3 years of tutoring experience, I've helped students move from a Grade 5 to a Grade 8/7 at GCSE, and from C's to A's at A-Level — real, measurable progress achieved through a method that's been refined session after session, student after student.

Every tutoring relationship starts with an introductory session, where I get to know your strengths, weaknesses, and goals before I plan a single lesson. From there, I build bespoke resources and structure each session around what will actually work for you — not a generic, one-size-fits-all curriculum.

Exam technique is at the heart of what I teach. For essay-based subjects especially, I place huge emphasis on helping students master the art of structuring and crafting a top-mark answer — because knowing the content is only half the battle; knowing how to present it under exam conditions is what separates a good grade from a great one.

Sessions are interactive, focused, and built around active learning rather than passive note-taking — expect past-paper drilling, model answers, structured feedback, and clear targets after every lesson so progress is always visible, not just promised.

No two students learn the same way, so no two sessions with me look the same. My teaching is built entirely around you: your pace, your goals, your target grade.

Sessions available: weekly, fortnightly, or intensive exam-prep blocks
Format: online
Subjects covered: GCSE English Literature, History, RE, English Language | A-Level Sociology, English Literature, Government & Politics
Also offering: university application support (personal statements, interview prep) and career guidance
