About Snehal
Heya! I’m Snehal, a University of Sydney Bachelor of Science / Doctor of Medicine (DDMP) student, NZQA Outstanding Scholar, and former Wellington College Dux offering tutoring in mathematics, physics and chemistry.
I graduated with results equivalent to a 99.95 ATAR and was recognized nationally as an Outstanding Scholar by NZQA, one of the highest academic honors awarded to high school students in New Zealand. I also achieved Cambridge A Level Mathematics – A* (93 scaled mark), and have completed university-level study including MATH199 at the University of Canterbury (97%; A+) and HIST113 at Victoria University of Wellington (A−).
Now studying medicine at the University of Sydney, I enjoy helping students develop the skills and confidence required to excel in demanding mathematics and science courses.
My Teaching Approach:
My tutoring focuses on helping students move beyond memorization and develop deep conceptual understanding.
Lessons are structured around three key principles:
- Conceptual clarity:
Breaking down difficult ideas into intuitive explanations so students understand the reasoning behind formulas and methods.
- Exam-level problem solving:
Working through challenging exam-style questions to develop speed, accuracy and strategic thinking.
- Confidence and independence:
Helping students develop the ability to approach unfamiliar problems logically and independently.
Many students struggle not because the content is impossible, but because it has never been explained clearly enough. My goal is to make complex concepts approachable and help students build the confidence needed to perform at their best.
I work with high school students preparing for advanced mathematics and science courses, as well as students aiming to achieve top academic results.
Lesson Structure
Lessons are typically 60 minutes and tailored to the individual student.
A typical lesson includes:
• Clarifying difficult concepts
• Working through exam-style questions
• Identifying and correcting common mistakes
• Developing efficient problem-solving strategies
• Limited availability to ensure each student receives personalized support.
