I am a very sociable person, therefore, lessons will never feel awkward or forced. Tutoring for me is about creating a life-long rapport with my students. Hi there! My name is Shameen and I am a passionate and caring Mathematics Advanced tutor with experience in both one-on-one tutoring and class lecturing! I myself sat the HSC and through consistent hard work, was able to achieve a state rank in Mathematics Advanced with a score of 99/100. Therefore, I know what it takes to achieve that band 6 and I would love to use my skills to help you too!
A lot of the students that come to me feel like their school doesn’t provide them with the deeper understanding of mathematics that they need. Even though they have been taught the content and formulas, their teachers rarely show them how to APPLY this knowledge to harder HSC questions.
This is where I come in to help! I always like to begin teaching my students by filling in PREVIOUS gaps in their learning. This is crucial as Mathematics Advanced builds on knowledge as far as year 9. The topic-specific booklets I provide my students cover all question types from the HSC, thus, you will be trained to answer HSC-type questions from beginning of your learning.
After the gaps have been filled, I like to align our learning towards the topics you are covering in class. For each topic of the HSC I have collated intensive question-filled booklets. The content is integrated throughout, so you will never feel bombarded. After each concept we learn, there are always questions afterwards so you can learn to APPLY your knowledge straight away.
Over the years, I have been able to collate a large pool of resources for my students. And I believe this is what differentiates me as a tutor. I have more than one hundred HSC trial papers to share with you. Furthermore, I have created and collected a plethora of worksheets relating to every topic of the HSC. It is this ability to support my students through resources that I believe is so important in a tutor. It is the way that a student can ask me for help in any topic, and I will be able to provide for them the resources they need to succeed.
