About Elgene

Despite my high ATAR and DUX title, I struggled through every concept just as much as all my classmates, but I worked hours and hours to develop the best study techniques and the best strategies for every question type presented. Several extremely late nights were used to revise and nitpick every single little piece of information and method needed for concepts. I went overboard to ensure I knew everything.

Several people are gifted and can easily score well, but I'm here to show that these students aren't the only top scorers, anyone can be. My goal is to show that through a significant amount of knowledge and guidance as well as hard work, anyone can be part of the top 1%.

About the lesson

Hello, my name is Elgene and I am a first-year Engineering student offering tutoring services in the Canning Vale area.
(FIRST 1.5 HR LESSON FREE)

I graduated as DUX of my class in 2025 with a 99.40 ATAR, finishing top of my year in Mathematics Methods, Specialist Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics, and was awarded the Excellence Award by Engineers Australia. I am now looking to share the knowledge and strategies that got me there with students who are eager to improve.

My teaching style focuses on heavy application of concepts rather than surface-level memorization, ensuring that students not only just read through notes but understand them to the level that they are able to solve the most difficult questions. Throughout my experience with ATAR I have accumulated a variety of optimized strategies for approaching questions to maximize scores for tests and exams (some that teachers may not even know). I have a strong ability to identify exactly where a student is struggling and address it directly, breaking down complex problems into clear and manageable steps that build confidence progressively. My genuine aim is to make every student of mine into at least 95+ ATAR students and if not, I have failed as a tutor.

I'm confident in my abilities to the point I can guarantee that through my methods and guidance, you or your child will see significant improvement in their results. To show my competence I will offer a free 1.5-hour lesson to your child as the first lesson.

I am located in Canning Vale but am able to travel a reasonable distance to your house if needed or to a public space. You are welcome to bring any textbooks or notes for queries but I will come prepared with worksheets during the lesson. $50/hr for solo and $30/hr for group sessions (Max 3 students)
