About Connor
I have a bachelors degree in astrophysics from Williams College. As an undergraduate, I was a teaching assistant for several physics and astronomy classes, providing homework help to students both in small groups and one-on-one environments. I also participated in astronomy research, presenting my results at two national conferences and awarded the High Honors distinction in astrophysics for my senior thesis.
Currently, I am enrolled in a physics PhD program (where I will also be a teaching assistant), but I have delayed my official start due to COVID-19.

I allow the student(s) to fully explain the troubles that they are having, whether that be with a concept or a specific homework problem. I try to never directly solve a problem for a student—I ask them questions and clarify misconceptions to guide them to the solution and give them the tools for future problems.
Often times my approach entails breaking down a question into individual steps, and other times I may craft a simpler example to illustrate how to apply different techniques. Math and science can get overwhelming, so I frequently check that the student understands what I am saying, rephrasing and reexplaining whenever needed.
