About Emily
I am an astronomy researcher and lecturer. I am an avid star trek fan and love all things science fiction literature. As a member of the LGBT+ community I want to provide a safe and welcoming space where anyone can explore the ideas of physics and astronomy free of prejudice or pressure.

Graduated from Dartmouth College with a PhD in Physics and Astronomy. Currently serving as a lecturer and research associate at Dartmouth. Seven years experience teaching astronomy and physics from the undergraduate to the graduate level. My teaching philosophy is heavily informed by student lead teaching. Physics is a beautiful and exciting game which we have created and I love helping students learn how to play with the concepts in a way which brings them to understanding.
I have most of my experience with university level teaching but also have experience with high school students. I am happy to work with anyone in at a high school level or above. My area of expertise is astronomy but I am also an experienced physics teacher. I will tutor any astronomy class and any physics up and until higher level "advanced" physics undergrad course (i.e. nothing higher than roughly electrostatics I)
