About Euan

Simply, friends and family are my experience. My friends with A-Level English troubles would often come to me for help on particular aspects,
most typically essay writing style, and would often achieve fantastic grades with coursework. I myself achieved 4 A's for coursework at A-Level, and my friends all achieved similar grades, ranging typically from A and B grades. My younger cousins achieved similar results with coursework and exam results with my help at GCSE, my youngest cousin having just received an A for her first piece of coursework for English Literature and an A for the subsequent Mock Exam. I am insist that i am not a teacher - but a tutor; I help with what you need me to. That being said, I have tutored around 15-20 friends and family over the last 4-5 years. I have helped more in proof reading and practice marking their work, focusing on improvements they have made and improvements they can still make. As formal as this description may be, I must lament that I am friendly and approachable in person, and not as stuffy or stuck up as I may appear to be from what I have written here!

About the lesson

An experienced student with access to detailed lesson plans of any aspect of the topic you may be struggling with. Capable and knowledgable in the subject with exstensive experience in essay writing and structure. No topic is too tough, and no grade is too difficult to achieve with a guiding tutor. My teaching style is hands on, with a gentle push in the right direction with the sole intention of helping the student achieve whatever they please; I am also an easy going and relaxed tutor, but this doesn't hinder any experience a student may have with me, as my experiences have shown a calm and relaxed environment is more effective in not only developing knowledge, but the understanding and application of the knowledge. As a tutor I help students of As/A-Level English Language and English Language/Literature GCSE students. My approach is more relaxed than most, in that the environment is less aggressive or aggravated than in conventional school or college/Sixth Form lessons; I always aim to keep the environment stress free to ensure understanding is achieved. In summary a potential student can expect a relaxed environment, but with a focus on particular topics that they may have difficulty with. I am here to help, not necessarily here to instruct on what I want them to learn - my lessons will be on what you need them to be.
