About Tone
I’m an associate professor of Anthropology at University College London. I can support you with understanding texts and concepts, writing essays and dissertations, and structuring your time efficiently so you can enjoy learning and not let it stress you out. I have published extensively and can also help with supporting structuring and writing of academic articles. But most of all, I can help you with your confidence. Most educational systems are set up in ways that privilege some people over others, and create hierarchies of value and intelligence that are damaging. I know this as I am a product of these systems. I teach in ways that reddress this, starting from your past experiences in education as well as your future goals.
I can also offer support in English Literature at GCSE and A-Level. I studied English Literature at Oxford for a year before changing my undergraduate degree to Human Sciences, and can support with comprehension and exams at both GCSE and A-level. I speak English and Portuguese.
Sessions are in person or online and 1hr long, and tailored to you. I’ve been working in higher education for over a decade so I can draw on a lot of experience and teaching techniques.
I’m trans non-binary and so welcome students who have felt alienated by education because of their gender
