About Maura
Hi! My name is Maura, and I’m passionate about helping students feel confident and successful in their learning. I have an associate degree and am currently pursuing my bachelor’s degree in Social Work, where I continue to develop strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
I believe every student learns differently, so I focus on creating a patient, supportive, and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and growing at their own pace. I enjoy helping students strengthen their English skills, including reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and overall communication.
My goal is not only to help students improve academically but also to help them build confidence that will benefit them inside and outside the classroom.

My tutoring approach is patient, encouraging, and personalized to each student’s needs. I focus on building confidence while improving reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. A typical lesson includes reviewing previous work, explaining new concepts, practicing together, and providing helpful feedback. I work with elementary, middle school, and high school students who need extra support or want to strengthen their English abilities.
