About Amy

I’m a qualified primary teacher with 12 years’ experience working with children across Key Stage 2, and I currently work as an Assistant Principal. I’m passionate about helping children feel confident in their learning and making tricky concepts feel manageable.

I have extensive experience teaching and supporting children in Maths and English, with particular expertise in Year 6 and SATs preparation. I have also led Maths across school and supported children with a wide range of starting points, from those needing help to close gaps to those ready for additional challenge.

Outside of school, I’m a big reader, love travelling and exploring new places, and am usually planning my next trip! I’m naturally quite creative and love anything that gives me an excuse to make or design something. I’m friendly, patient and approachable, and building positive relationships with children has always been one of my favourite parts of teaching.

My tutoring sessions are friendly, supportive and tailored to the individual child. I take time to identify exactly where they need help and explain concepts in clear, accessible ways rather than simply working through worksheets. I want children to leave sessions feeling successful, more confident and knowing that they can do it.

About the lesson

Lessons will be catered to the needs of the child. I focus on high-quality talk-based learning, active learning and teaching efficient methods.

I am very creative and enjoy sharing this creativity with my students.

Lessons would last between 45 and 60 minutes.
