About Piers
I was a primary school teacher for 8 years and have always had a passion for building and problem solving. I enjoy the challenge of building unique pieces (usually brain teaser puzzles) and love sharing my skills with anyone keen to learn. I also often like to incorporate other mediums into my woodwork such as stone and metal.

I teach with a passion for students interests. Students come up with ideas and I help turn them into reality, sometimes with nudges to develop their skills or to simplify projects to make them achievable. I have been crafting/building for over 20 years and have been teaching woodwork to small groups aged 8-16 for 5 years (also open to teaching adults, especially any that accompany their kids). Lessons usually last 4 hours (with breaks) and are better in groups of about 3-6 students. Students must be good at listening to instructions as the workshop can be a dangerous place if you don't respect the tools.
