About Vadim
My name is Vadim, aka Arno Cost and I am a 35 year old electronic music producer living in Paris.
I started tweaking machines at the age of 15 as an autodidact, and Since then, I have not stopped learning in order to perfect my sound and my technique.
I mainly work on FL Studio and have released a number of songs throughout my career, including the most famous "Magenta", "Apocalypse", "Together", "Darlin" or "Travolta"
My influences are decidedly French Touch, house, disco house and progressive house.
On the studio side, I worked with Moby (of which I am the author of the remix present in the film "Charlie Countryman"), Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Martin Solveig and Avicii in collaboration for the most "popular".
I signed on labels like Casablanca, Spinnin, Armada, Insomniac, Cr2, Kontor, BigBeat ... and major with Universal.
For a few years, I have adopted a more UK house style, signing on labels such as Club Sweat or Positiva.
Although an artist labeled "House", I feel very comfortable with techno, pop , hip hop, synthwave, or even Kpop. I also produced the track "A Bit Tipsy" by Korean "Youha".
Finally, these last 15 years, I had the chance to tour all over the world (more than 45 country) to play my music. I am a fulfilled artist who now wants to transmit :-)

Proud of a career spanning more than 15 years in my passion of electronic music production (and from which I still live), today I wish to pass my knowledge on to "bedroom producers"!
We will address the following themes (depending on your level, we will skim over or explore some of them):
-Master of FL STUDIO software - essential to be able to express your talent in an optimal way!
-First grooves and loops - depending on your musical style, you will learn how to create a solid base looped in 8 or 16 beats.
- Mastery of basic effects (EQ, Reverb, compression, delay) - when, how and why to apply them?
-The importance of the choice of elements - the key to a clean sound.
-Quantize and grooves - to perfect your drumlines.
-Splice - the # 1 audio tool for producers in 2021.
-VST / plugins - What is it, and why use them.
- Mastery of VSTs and sound-design: Kontakt, Sylenth, Nexus, Serum, Korg M1, ANA 2 etc - to create your own basslines, synths ...
- Mastery of 4 essential plugins (EQ: FabFilter pro Q2, Reverb: Valhalla, Compression: Waves SSL comp, Delay: Soundtoys Echoboy)
-How to process a vocal.
-Kick and bass - how to make them "sound" together.
-Master of the sidechain - the famous pump effect democratized by the Dafts and present in 90% of current productions.
-Master of automation - to bring your song to life!
-Master of buildup - build your song from A to Z by segmenting (intro, breaks, bridges etc).
-The FXs
-Mixing - headroom, balances, eq, stereofield ... so many techniques to know to correct mixing faults and breathe your piece before the stage mastering
-Mastering - Multiband compression (Fabfilter pro-MB), Stereo enhancing (Ozone 8), Saturation (FabFilter Saturn), Limiting and Monitoring. These are concepts and tools that you will need to know and master in order to bring a product that will sound big, punchy and that will meet today's loudness standards.
Although the topics discussed above require concentration and rigor on the part of the student if he wishes to progress quickly and well, I like to make the lessons fun and lively by contextualizing, by sharing anecdotes, stories from the studio, on tour, or with other artists.
I believe that pleasure is the n ° 1 engine for learning!
Above all, I have at heart to guide the student as much as I can, from my experience, so that 'he can make the right choices in his present or future career. Indeed, labels, publishers, managers or even bookers are all players in music who revolve around artists and whose role and issues it is good to know.
