About Maham
My academic background is in anthropology and sociology, but I have been an artist all my life, specializing in illustration, watercolor painting and oil painting. I started an arts based platform called "The Dabke Collective" in 2016 which works to create spaces to explore unheard narratives/stories. Our first project was a collaboration between Syrian newcomers and local artists in Toronto to visualize the incredible journeys of six individuals through painting, photography, sculpture and film. I also have professional experience creating arts based curriculums in international contexts and using art therapy in the capacity of a violence against women counselor.

I teach drawing, painting, watercolor painting, oil painting. For the levels: beginner,intermediate, advanced. My teaching methods vary according to the students needs and the level they are at, classes will be 2 hours and can be longer if on a weekend.
