About Hlumelo
I am a student at Nelson Mandela University. I started giving poetry lessons since 2017 and I have been a Poet since 2012. I have helped about 6 individual students and 3 groups of students since I have started tutoring others.

I am a second year student, so my teaching is highly focused on first year students and high school learners. My method is simple and yet very effective. In order for students to master poetry they have to be one with the poem. What do I mean? I mean i first focus on installing the theme of the poem in every way possible to the student and when they clearly understand the theme I let the poem sink in to them whilst I highlight the poetic devices used in the poem. I also help students write their own poems which is not as hard as people would think.
