About Chunyu
I hold a BFA from the School of Visual Arts and an MA from NYU, where my work focused on literary theory, psychoanalysis, and visual culture. I've taught at the college level and I work as an editor, so explaining complex ideas clearly is my daily practice. I studied art by practicing it, photography and video, which means I approach art history from inside the work, not just from the textbook. I'm patient, honest, and genuinely enjoy the moment when something difficult clicks.

Hi! I'm Joyce, and my lessons make difficult ideas feel approachable. Whether you're studying art history, philosophy, or psychology for a class, or you're just curious and want a guide, we'll work through the actual texts and artworks together, looking closely, asking questions, and building your own interpretations rather than memorizing someone else's.
