About Scott
Scott Ackerman is a professional artist and dedicated arts educator with extensive international experience. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from Florida State University, after which he pursued graduate work at both AU and the prestigious Tokyo Arts Institute. Scott began his professional career in Osaka, Japan, where he served as an Adjunct Professor of Illustration and Painting. During this time, he also built a successful portfolio of commission-based work, establishing his distinct artistic voice. His work is highly regarded within the tabletop role-playing game community and has been featured in numerous publications and third-party compendiums. Scott's illustrations can be found in releases from esteemed publishers such as Lamentations of the Flame Princess, Goodman Games (DCC), and Stockholm Kartell, among multiple other TTRPG utilities. Currently based in Florida, Scott continues to teach art at leading charter and private institutions. He has recently expanded his reach by making his comprehensive instructional curriculum available to students worldwide through online platforms.

My instruction is tailored to two distinct paths of artistic development:
• For the Advanced Painter: Master the finest techniques in oil and acrylic painting. We will delve into advanced color theory, composition, brushwork, and material science to refine your unique style and produce gallery-quality work.
• For the Aspiring Beginner: Build a rock-solid foundation in the Elements and Principles of illustration and drawing. You will learn the essential skills—from perspective and anatomy to light and shadow—that form the bedrock of all great art.
My ultimate goal is to equip you with the technical mastery and creative confidence needed to build a portfolio that doesn't just impress, but actively attracts clients. Learn the skills that will allow you to confidently seek and secure commissions.
