About Samuel P

I have during my education to become a researcher and engineer at Sweden’s top university in Lund taken studies in a wide range of fields and have therefore obtained both specific and interdisciplinary knowledge, as well as gotten a broader understanding that typically exceeds the subject’s major topics. My main education was based on technical nanoscience, which included advanced mathematics, physics ranging from mechanical to quantum, organic and inorganic chemistry, electronics, and biology ranging from human physiology down to molecular biology. Apart from this, I have also acquired higher education in psychology – where I studied cognition and neuropsychology; as well as computer science – where I pursued programming and neural network theory as a base of artificial intelligence. Within these scientific fields, my specialisation lies in neuroscience, biochemistry in the form of structural biology and proteomics (protein science), and cognitive modelling as a branch of computer science.

It’s common that we sometimes encounter subjects that we just don’t understand. The reason is never that we are not capable enough, or too slow, but rather that our teachers are not explaining the subject in a way that resonates with our way of thinking. This was my problem during most of my education. I had to constantly translate my teacher’s words into a reasoning that was much easier for me to understand, and now I want to help you to find your translation. I know better than anyone that there are always infinite ways of explaining the same subject, and at least one of these ways will be the one for you!

How?
Together we will come up with a teaching plan that works for you! We will apply the subject to the real world and explore fun custom scenarios and examples to test the current topic we’re working on, all in order to realise the usefulness of the subject. All lessons will be highly interactive and we will try different methods such as solving problems, building problems, exploring the field to build our own library, use quizzes to test our knowledge, or just discuss the topic, whatever is the more effective method for you. Our goal is to find an intuitive understanding and to tailor your knowledge to your interests in order to find it useful, interesting, and fun.

For whom?
Your current level of education doesn’t matter! There is no age or level of expertise that will make you immune from getting stuck on difficult topics, and we all sometimes need a new perspective in order to go on in our studies.

If you’re a younger student, I will teach you the chosen subject from a new, more engaging, perspective. I will show you how you can use this information outside school by applying it to your own interests in order to make the subject more meaningful to you. We will also learn how to interpret your school’s material so that you will know how to tackle future lessons.

If you’re a beginner, I expect that you have chosen a specific subject out of interest or benefit. Enrolment at any school or university, or self studies, are both valid approaches to begin a new subject, and many times we need an initial boost in order to form our underlying foundation for a new science. We will find a teaching strategy that will help you build a stable intuitive understanding of the science to further build upon. We will also focus on tailoring the subject towards your specific goal or purpose.

If you’re an intermediate, I expect that you already have a basic understanding of the main field but merely miss that intuition — or just can’t grasp a more advanced subject or a specific topic. In this position, I will help you see the field in new lights and to explain the more advanced topics until you understand it.

If you’re in an advanced field, it can still be beneficial to broaden your understanding by subjecting yourself to others' perspectives. In this situation we will discuss the field, subject and the specific topic in order to come up with new interpretations, and consequently, develop new methods of approaching problems within our field.

For specific subjects, whereas I can teach, give you guidance by explaining problems or topics, or simply discuss and bounce ideas, see the outlined list below.
