About Calia

I have 8 years of experience teaching Architecture to students exploring design education, portfolio development, and creative growth. I earned a B.Des in Architectural Studies, which provided strong grounding in design thinking, spatial analysis, and architectural communication. This academic background helps me guide learners with both creativity and structure.

My teaching style is warm, patient, and focused on helping students feel confident in their creative process. I enjoy supporting learners as they move from uncertainty to clarity through sketches, concept discussions, and design refinement. I create an environment where experimentation feels safe and progress feels achievable.

Outside tutoring, I stay engaged with architecture through urban design research, sustainability reading, and continual exploration of modern architectural projects. Teaching architecture is deeply fulfilling because students often discover their creative potential through design. Supporting that transformation motivates my work.

About the lesson

Architecture becomes truly inspiring when students understand that design is both creative expression and structured problem solving. In my lessons, I guide learners through design principles, spatial composition, architectural drawing, concept development, and material awareness with supportive, step-by-step coaching. I focus on helping students translate imagination into clear design language, so they can communicate ideas confidently through sketches, models, and presentations.

Lessons are shaped around the student’s experience level. Beginners learn foundational drawing skills, proportion, perspective, and simple design thinking exercises. Intermediate learners develop stronger planning ability, spatial organisation, material exploration, and project refinement. Advanced students focus on portfolio building, architectural storytelling, design critique preparation, and professional presentation techniques. Each session encourages creative confidence while strengthening discipline and clarity.

Architecture lessons help students grow beyond technical skill by developing observation, artistic identity, and thoughtful problem-solving habits. Over time, learners become more confident in expressing ideas visually and conceptually. My goal is to support students in discovering their design voice while building strong architectural foundations.
