About Charu
My passion for architecture began with a fascination for structures, urban spaces, and the interplay between form and function. This led me to pursue a B.Arch followed by an M.Arch in Urban Design. Over 8 years of teaching, I have helped students express their creative ideas, refine their technical skills, and develop confidence in design thinking. My approach emphasizes structured guidance, hands-on learning, and interactive exploration. I adapt lessons to each student’s needs, incorporating sketching, digital modeling, and practical exercises to foster both creativity and technical precision. Encouraging curiosity, independent problem-solving, and artistic expression is central to my teaching philosophy. Patience, clear instruction, and constructive feedback guide learners toward mastery. Beyond teaching, I remain engaged with design research, sustainable architecture projects, and contemporary urban studies. Bringing these insights into lessons allows students to connect theory with practice. Teaching architecture is deeply rewarding because I witness students transform ideas into tangible designs, cultivating both creative confidence and practical expertise.

Architecture becomes a rich and inspiring subject when learners understand how creative ideas translate into functional, aesthetic, and sustainable spaces. My lessons cover design principles, spatial reasoning, conceptual development, material selection, and visual communication, emphasizing both creativity and structure. I incorporate hands-on sketching, model-making, digital design tools, and interactive discussions to guide learners in expressing their ideas confidently and clearly. Each session is designed to balance theory, practice, and creative exploration.
Beginners learn foundational skills such as proportion, perspective, basic sketching, and conceptual ideation. Intermediate learners focus on advanced drawing techniques, design problem-solving, model development, and material understanding. Advanced learners engage in comprehensive project planning, portfolio preparation, presentation skills, and sustainable design practices. Every lesson emphasizes clarity, practical application, and nurturing a student’s unique design voice.
