I have experience teaching kids between the age of 4 to 8 years. Use the Interactive/ Participative method. I believe shorter lecture sessions could be more effective, lecture usually lasts for 2 to 3 hours, and half an hour at the end is always assigned to creative projects to retain an understanding of the subject for a longer time.
