About Niamh
I grew up in a musical family and began singing from a very early age. My musical journey began at the age of five when I embarked on the path of piano, flute, oboe, musicianship, choral studies and voice training. This early foundation paved the way for my pursuit of a BMus Honours degree at MTU Cork School of Music, where I specialised in vocal performance and music pedagogy (Music Education), graduating in 2010. Following my undergraduate studies, I furthered my education by completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Education at the University of Limerick Mary Immaculate College, graduating in 2013. Eager to deepen my understanding of music's therapeutic potential, I pursued a Master's in Music Therapy, earning a Merit from the University of the West of England, Bristol, in 2022. Currently, I am privileged to work as a music therapist for the NHS, where I apply my expertise to support the young people I work with. With many years of experience teaching all ages and abilities, both in schools and privately, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a nurturing approach to my students' musical development.

With over 15 years of teaching experience and an honours degree in music, coupled with my master's qualification as a HCPC registered music therapist, I am a seasoned and qualified vocal coach. I approach teaching with a balanced focus, nurturing your voice while cultivating your musical skills. I believe in a teaching approach that embraces individuality and empowers you to find your authentic voice. Whether you're a beginner singing for pleasure or seeking to refine your skills further, I'll guide you at your own pace, focusing on the music you love. In our sessions, expect a supportive and relaxed environment where learning is both fulfilling and fun. Together, we'll explore singing techniques, repertoire, and musical expression, preparing you for performances, auditions, or simply enhancing your musical abilities for your own enjoyment. Beyond singing, I offer support in music theory and encourage musical exploration for those eager to deepen their understanding of music. I'm here to support you every step of the way.
