About Annabel

I take my role as a tutor very seriously and always aim to create a calm, focused and encouraging learning environment. Having recently completed A Levels myself and now studying at a Russell Group university, I understand both the academic demands and the pressure students can feel, which allows me to support them in a way that is both structured and empathetic.

I am organised, punctual and fully prepared for every session. Lessons are carefully planned in advance and tailored to the specific exam board and individual needs of each student. I track progress over time and ensure students leave each lesson with clear next steps and measurable improvements.

I am confident working with students of different abilities and learning styles, and I prioritise building long-term confidence alongside academic success. My aim is not only to improve grades, but to help students feel capable, prepared and self-assured in their exams.

About the lesson

Hi, I’m Annabel! I’m currently studying Geography at the University of Exeter and have a strong academic background in A Level Geography. I understand exactly what exam boards are looking for and how to structure answers to access the highest marks.

My teaching approach is structured, supportive and tailored to each student. I begin by identifying strengths and areas for improvement, then create focused lessons that build both knowledge and exam confidence. I place particular emphasis on essay structure, evaluation, case study detail and exam technique — as these are often what push students into the top grade boundaries.

A typical lesson lasts 60 minutes, though I also offer 90-minute sessions for more in-depth essay practice or revision before exams. Lessons usually include a mix of clear explanation, active recall, practice questions and feedback. I also provide structured essay plans, model paragraph guidance and revision strategies that students can use independently.

My lessons are for GCSE and A Level Geography students who want to improve their understanding, confidence and exam performance. Whether a student is aiming to move up a grade or secure an A/A*, I adapt my teaching style to suit their goals and learning preferences.

I genuinely enjoy helping students feel more confident in Geography and watching their progress over time, especially when complex topics start to “click”!
