I've known Mike since we were at school together, and he was one of the few people I wanted to keep in touch with through and after university. Besides being so sharp and knowledgeable in Maths and many other subjects, he was always a kind and down-to-earth person. He can switch quite happily between cracking jokes and patiently helping explain a concept to another person. And he would always handle his own work quietly and confidently. I absolutely think he has just the right qualities that make a great teacher.
