About Alix
I am a qualified osteopath (M.Ost) with over twelve years of clinical experience in private practice and interdisciplinary healthcare settings. Alongside my clinical work, I have extensive experience teaching anatomy and physiology to healthcare, therapy, and body-based practitioners.
My understanding of anatomy is shaped not only by conventional biomedical training, but also by anthroposophical medical education, which has deepened my appreciation of the human organism as a living, self-regulating, and meaningfully organised whole. This perspective informs how I teach anatomy and physiology in relation to health, adaptation, and the processes of healing, rather than as isolated structures or mechanisms.
Through long-term clinical practice, I have developed a way of teaching that helps students understand how structure, function, physiology, movement, and lived experience interrelate.
Students often come to me feeling overwhelmed by detail or disconnected from purely mechanical presentations of the body; my aim is to help anatomy begin to make sense as a coherent and clinically meaningful subject.
I enjoy working with thoughtful, curious learners and adapt my teaching to meet each student’s level, background, and learning goals.

My teaching approach is grounded in the understanding of anatomy and physiology as living, relational, and clinically meaningful subjects, rather than purely abstract or mechanical systems.
I aim to help students understand the human body — how structure, function, movement, physiology, and lived experience interrelate — so that anatomical knowledge becomes intuitive, memorable, and practically useful.
Lessons are adapted to each student’s background, learning style, and goals.
I combine:
Clear anatomical/physiological explanation.
Clinical and embodied examples.
Visualisation, functional thinking, and questioning.
Linking textbook knowledge to real human bodies.
This approach is especially helpful for students who feel overwhelmed by memorisation or disconnected from conventional teaching.
Teaching methodology and lesson structure
Lessons are usually structured around:
Identifying key concepts or areas of difficulty.
Building clear anatomical and physiological frameworks.
Integrating function, movement, and clinical relevance.
Reviewing and consolidating understanding.
Sessions are interactive and dialogical rather than lecture-based, with space for questions, clarification, and deeper exploration where helpful.
Typical length of a lesson
Most lessons are 60 minutes, which allows enough time for depth without overload.
Longer sessions (90 minutes) can be arranged for revision, integration, or exam preparation.
Qualifications and experience
I am a qualified osteopath (M.Ost) with over twelve years of clinical experience in private practice and interdisciplinary healthcare settings.
Alongside my clinical work, I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring anatomy, physiology, osteopathy and biomedical subjects to healthcare and body-based students.
My teaching draws directly from long-term clinical practice and from working with the human body in health, adaptation, and healing.
Who the lessons are for
My lessons are suitable for:
Practitioners and students in medicine, healthcare, therapy, and somatic or body-based disciplines.
Osteopathy and manual therapy students.
Massage therapists, physiotherapists, and movement professionals.
Yoga, Pilates, and somatic practitioners.
Healthcare students studying anatomy and physiology.
Adult learners seeking a deeper, more integrated understanding.
Levels range from introductory to advanced.
If you are looking for anatomy that makes sense in real bodies — not just in textbooks — this approach may suit you well.
