About Jake
I have been a chemistry student for over six years, starting with honors and then AP chemistry in high school and then working my way through a bachelor's degree in chemistry. I plan to continue my chemistry studies for another five years as I work towards my Master's and PhD in chemistry.
I have been tutoring my peers in chemistry since high school, but I have been more focused on chemical education for the past year. I am currently working as a teaching assistant in analytical chemistry and chemical spectroscopy. Additionally, I have been tutoring students in other chemistry courses at my university and online.

Every student is unique—and so is their learning style. I aim to individualize each lesson to match the learning style of the student I am working with.
I believe the best way to learn chemistry is to use it, so I try to incorporate as many practice problems into my lessons as possible. This helps the student practice and allows me to determine how much the student understands and where they are struggling. This feedback helps me adjust the lesson to ensure the student completely understands the material.
My lessons are best for students in any chemistry course at the college level. Specifically, I am best at analytical chemistry and general chemistry. I am also able to help with high-school chemistry, especially AP chemistry.
