About Dr Emily
Hi I am Emily, an anaesthetic trainee within the Oxford Deanery. I am a kind, enthusiastic educator who wants to work with you to successfully achieve your goals. I am a passionate medical educator and have held previous formal roles including graduate facilitator for Southampton and Bristol university students and am a dive medicine instructor for medical students (lots of simulations of shark attacks!). Teaching is my main passion alongside my clinical work and strive to give each student a fun and excellent learning experience! I have had a wonderful and varied career so far including working in South Africa and Nepal within infectious diseases and even assisted in the set up a field hospital in the COVID-19 pandemic in Gibraltar! Throughout my sessions we will work towards your short-term and long-term goals. Within my sessions I believe having real life application of core concepts is vital, and hope that my passion and experience within medicine will allow for us to do this. At the weekends you will find me either on the squash court or on an adventure with my cocker spaniel, Ivy.

Our sessions will always centre around your goals and we will work together to create a plan to successfully achieve these goals, no matter what time scale! I will provide tailored lessons specific to your curriculum or to the topics of discussion. Specific feedback for areas of improvement will be discussed, with detailed feedback through email to help structure revision in between sessions. Teaching should be fun and inspiring! My sessions incorporate a mixture of styles to personalise the experience for each student in order to maximise learning for the individual but whilst being engaging, interactive and fun!
