About Alyaan
I am a passionate learner and have had an interest in maths since a very young age. I therefore pursued mathematics at A Level where I found enjoyment and satisfaction in the subject, especially trigonometry. Coming out of A Levels with a Grade A, I then utilised those skills in my Biomedical Science degree Queen Mary University of London, achieving a First Class Honours. I am now studying an accelerated course of Medicine at University of Manchester, hoping to again use my maths skills in a particular speciality I am strongly interested in - Orthopaedic Surgery.
In terms of personality, I have been commonly referred to as calm under pressure and relatively laidback. At the end of the day I am a student just like any of my customers would be, so I understand what the struggle is. However my experience has allowed me to comprehend the different methods of learning and this will be shown when I tutor.

In teaching GCSE Maths I use a structured approach in which I first determine the proficiency, via a standardised test, allowing me to identify areas of strength and weakness. After discussing this with the student, we will then work from there on the topics they personally require help in and ensure that weaknesses are transformed into strengths.
Lesson by lesson we will also identify what was taught at school and practise to ensure strong comprehension on the topics at hand.
I have previous experience as a family tutor and sufficient previous educational history as dictated in my title. More importantly though, I find enjoyment in maths and a strong interest in the subject. This will hopefully be passed on to my students, where they can utilise the subject as they wish, opening up wide doors for their future careers.
The lessons will typically be 1 hour, but can be arranged differently if the student wishes for longer, just has to be discussed beforehand.
Targeted audience is GCSE Maths.
