About Alexandre Dupont
I have been involved in music for close to ten years, have completed a music degree and can play drums, guitar, piano, bass, violin and I can sing. I also have a background in music production and audio engineering. During my studies, I went the extra mile and read complex books about music theory in my free time, which has given me an extensive knowledge about this particular subject. You can't be that big of a nerd and remain ignorant... Furthermore, I have experience in applying this music theory knowledge to composition and orchestration, which really cemented my learnings.

I will teach any beginner, intermediate or advanced student about music theory. This would include harmony, voice leading, chords, chord functions, extensions, tonality, modality, modulations, rhythm, chromaticism, on and on... I welcome students to guide me towards what they wish to learn, to ask questions and to share their own curiosities. I also welcome students to read and learn on their own, as this speeds up the learning process and makes it more fun and interesting. For the more motivated students, I can make music theory complex and explain in great detail, or I can keep it simple and get to the essential for the more practical students.
