About Rebecca
I am a freelance visual artist and photographer focusing on documentary, social and environmental photography.
I hold a 1st class MA degree in Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from London College of Communication (University of the Arts London). I also hold an MSc in biodiversity from Imperial College London and a BA in biological sciences from University of Oxford.
My own artistic practice is research-based and mixed-media. It is currently mainly around environmental themes but I have also made work on subjects such as traditional dance and mixed-race heritage. I am currently working on an exhibition on the topic of migratory birds in urban environments in collaboration with the Oxford University Museum of Natural History.
I have a particular interest in multi-media work, combining drawing, writing, photography, film and audio to make immersive exhibitions and installations. I curated a solo exhibition in collaboration with the Charing Cross Library last year, on the topic of Cantonese lion dance in the UK.

My tutorials are suitable for beginners, improvers, and those with more experience who are working on more involved, long-form projects or looking for creative inspiration.
I offer tailored guidance and a sounding board in a supportive space to help you move past creative block and make richer, more meaningful images. In my tutorials you will receive:
- constructive feedback on your photography work;
- exercises to unlock new possibilities in your image-making;
- suggestions of resources to inspire you: concepts, exhibitions, texts, films and artwork from across different disciplines that I have found helpful in my own practice.
Tutorials are 1 hour. I offer an initial 30-minute free introductory chat to help you decide if I'm the right tutor for you. Block-booking is available (see rates). Depending on your goals I am happy to propose a bespoke, more structured set of tutorials where you can explore several learning points over a longer period of time, or develop a particular body of work in more depth.
