My teaching approach for Algebra is centered on advanced field theory and Galois theory. I begin with field extensions, including finite and algebraic extensions, and minimal polynomials. I teach splitting fields, normal extensions, and separable extensions with detailed proofs. I cover Galois groups, fundamental theorem of Galois theory, and applications in solving polynomial equations by radicals. I also cover cyclotomic extensions and solvability by radicals. I use examples from classical problems like constructible numbers and roots of unity to make concepts tangible. I provide detailed notes, proofs, and problem sets that emphasize both theoretical understanding and problem-solving skills. I assign homework that includes proof writing, theorem applications, and research-style problems. I conduct regular tests and provide detailed feedback on reasoning and clarity. I maintain a progress log and offer additional support for challenging topics. My goal is to prepare you for PhD-level research in algebra.
