About Sophie
Hello, I'm Sophie, a passionate vocal coach and Musical Theatre specialist with over 20 years of teaching experience.
Singing has always been at the heart of my life, and I feel incredibly privileged to help others discover the confidence and joy that comes from finding their voice. Throughout my career, I've worked with hundreds of singers of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners to experienced performers preparing for auditions, examinations and drama school applications.
I hold the ALCM Teaching Diploma and the DipLCM in Musical Theatre Performance, and I'm also a qualified Level 3 Vocal Balance Teacher and certified Vocal Health First Aider. Alongside my private teaching, I teach Technical Singing at Wilkes Academy, one of the UK's leading performing arts colleges, where I help train the next generation of musical theatre performers.
My approach is friendly, encouraging and supportive, while maintaining high standards and clear goals for every student. I believe that everyone has the potential to improve with the right guidance, and I take pride in creating a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable to challenge themselves, develop healthy vocal technique and grow in confidence.

Every singer has a unique voice, and my lessons are designed to help you discover yours in a supportive, encouraging and professional environment. Whether you're taking your very first singing lesson, preparing for auditions, working towards graded exams, or simply singing for enjoyment, I tailor every lesson to your individual goals.
I specialise in Musical Theatre and contemporary vocal technique, with a strong focus on developing healthy, sustainable singing. My teaching combines proven vocal exercises with performance coaching, helping students improve vocal technique, range, breath control, confidence, interpretation and stage presence. I believe that understanding *how* the voice works is just as important as achieving great results, so I explain techniques in a clear and practical way that students can easily apply.
Lessons are typically 30 or 60 minutes long and are structured around your needs. A typical lesson may include a vocal warm-up, technical exercises, repertoire work, performance skills and personalised feedback, with clear goals to help you progress between lessons.
With over 20 years of teaching experience, I hold the ALCM Teaching Diploma, the DipLCM in Musical Theatre Performance, am a Level 3 Vocal Balance Teacher, a certified Vocal Health First Aider, and currently teach Technical Singing at Wilkes Academy. I have helped hundreds of students build confidence, pass examinations with excellent results, secure places at prestigious performing arts colleges, prepare for auditions and, most importantly, enjoy singing with freedom and confidence.
Lessons are available for children, teenagers and adults of all abilities, from complete beginners to advanced performers.
