About Thomas

I’m a full-time aerospace engineer and Systems Safety Manager at Airbus, with over 10 years’ experience in the Royal Navy working on aircraft and avionics systems.
Outside of work, I’m a husband and dad of two, so I understand how important it is to keep learning practical, engaging, and stress-free—especially for younger students.
A big part of my career has involved mentoring and developing engineers, from apprentices through to experienced team members. I’ve always enjoyed helping people build confidence and understand things properly, rather than just memorising answers.
I’m patient, approachable, and used to explaining complex ideas in simple terms. Whether someone is struggling with the basics or aiming for top grades, I tailor sessions to suit their pace and learning style.
I offer evening sessions to fit around school and family life, and I aim to make each lesson clear, structured, and genuinely useful.

Hi, I’m Tom, an experienced aircraft engineer and Systems Safety Manager at Airbus with over 10 years in the Royal Navy working on advanced avionics systems.

I specialise in breaking down complex topics into simple, easy-to-understand steps. Whether it’s GCSE Maths, English report writing or engineering fundamentals, I focus on building confidence as well as results.

My background includes:
Degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
10+ years hands-on engineering experience in the Royal Navy.
Current Systems Safety Manager at Airbus.
Extensive experience mentoring and training engineers at all levels.
I’ve spent years teaching and developing engineers in high-pressure environments, so I understand how to adapt explanations to different learning styles and help students who may be struggling or lacking confidence.

What I can help with:
GCSE & A-Level Maths and Physics
Engineering concepts (mechanical, electrical, avionics basics).
Apprenticeship and engineering interview preparation.
Problem-solving and exam technique.

My approach is calm, structured, and supportive. No stress, no pressure, just clear progress each session.
