About Jagdish
I’m a plant breeder with hands-on experience in cotton crop improvement. Over the years, I have worked on developing better cotton varieties — focusing on higher yield, better fiber quality, pest resistance, and adaptability to changing climate conditions.
I want to share my knowledge with you because I strongly believe that the future of agriculture depends on well-trained, passionate plant breeders. Cotton is not just a fiber crop; it supports millions of farmers and plays a vital role in the textile industry and rural economies. The challenges we face today — climate change, water scarcity, emerging pests, and the need for sustainable farming — require a new generation of breeders who are skilled, innovative, and ready to solve real-world problems.
I enjoy teaching and mentoring because I want to pass on both the scientific principles and the practical wisdom I’ve gained from working in the field. I want my students to understand not only genetics, breeding techniques, and biotechnology, but also how to think critically, design effective experiments, and connect research with the needs of farmers.
My goal is to help you build a strong foundation so you can develop improved crop varieties that make a real difference — whether in cotton or any other crop you choose to work with. I am excited to guide you, answer your questions, and support you as you grow into confident, capable plant breeders.

I can teach school and college level students through ppt and have more than 27 years of cotton breeding experience so I can explain issues in cotton breeding and cotton improvement. I can also teach some basics of statistical analysis used in agriculture research and breeding trials
