About Lauren

I have a passion for science which lead me to study for a PhD in Cancer Immunology. As much as I enjoy being in the lab doing research, I also love teaching others and helping inspire them to pursue a STEM career. During A levels, I helped tutor struggling GCSE students to obtain their full potential. I am also a STEM ambassador and help to run sessions with primary and secondary school students develop their science knowledge and supervise undergraduate and masters students in the lab, helping them develop in both practical and theoretical areas. I am very patient and enjoy the challenge of explaining difficult concepts to others and finding new and fun ways to do so. I have a large biological knowledge and participate in many extra activities, including summer schools at both Oxford University and Imperial College London giving me extra knowledge that is required to get the highest grades.

Perfect! GCSE Maths tutoring
Lauren tutored my 16 year old daughter for a few months in the run up to GCSEs as she lacked confidence in maths and had fallen behind. Lauren was an exceptional tutor, patient, clear, encouraging and always willing to find alternative ways to explain topics. As a result of her help my daughter’s grades improved from 5s to a 7 in her final exams. I only wish we had found Lauren sooner! Highly recommend.

Lauren has been my supervisor whilst I have been an undergraduate placement student at the Barts Cancer Institute. Lauren is an exceptionally knowledgable Cancer Biologist. She enjoys helping students to understand new topics and loves being inventive and artistic in explaining. She is only encouraged to help when I misunderstand a topic. Lauren likes the student to think for themselves and always comes up with an easy way to remember. I think Lauren would make an ideal tutor.
