About Farihah
I’m a dedicated GCSE and A Level Sociology teacher with a strong desire to give back to my community by offering affordable, high-quality tutoring sessions.
With a BA in Education, MA in Education, MA in TESOL, Cert TESOL, and a PGCE in Social Sciences with QTS, I bring both academic expertise and a deep passion for helping students succeed.
To give my students the best possible advantage, I have also qualified as an AQA GCSE and A Level Sociology examiner. This means I can offer tailored lessons that not only build knowledge but also sharpen exam technique — helping you understand exactly what examiners look for so you can achieve your best results.
Sociology isn’t an easy subject, but with the right guidance, every goal is achievable. Believe in yourself, put in the effort, and trust me to help you get there.
Let’s work together to turn your potential into success.
If you’d like, I can also create a shorter, punchier version for social media or online tutoring platforms so it grabs attention quickly. Would you like me to prepare that next?

Free 30-Minute Introductory Session:
To ensure that I can provide the most effective and personalised support, I offer a free 30-minute initial session. This session is designed to:
Conduct a RAG (Red, Amber, Green) assessment to identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses across the four key Sociology topics.
Provide a welcome to Sociology lesson so both you and your child can experience my teaching style, understand my expectations, and see how I structure lessons.
This initial meeting also allows me to estimate how much time we have until the exams and how much content needs to be covered to help your child reach — and ideally exceed — their target grades.
My Teaching Approach:
I believe that learning should be engaging, structured, and purposeful. While I aim to make lessons enjoyable, I also emphasise the importance of resilience, discipline, and independent study. For your child to make the best progress, they will need to engage in regular independent work — whether that’s homework set by their school, additional tasks I provide, or focused exam practice. This consistent reinforcement helps embed knowledge into long-term memory, making it easier to recall during exams.
Lesson Structure:
Every lesson is carefully planned to maximise learning and retention. A typical session will include:
Retrieval starter – to refresh and reinforce prior learning.
Focused content teaching – covering key concepts, theories, and case studies.
Exam practice – applying knowledge to real exam-style questions.
Some sessions may be entirely exam-focused, while others may concentrate on building a strong foundation in key terminology, theorists, and sociological perspectives.
I will always keep you informed of the lesson plan, and you will receive a content list tailored to the number of lessons you book, so you know exactly what will be covered.
Why Choose Me?:
Alongside my teaching experience, I am also a qualified AQA GCSE and A Level Sociology examiner. This means I have an insider’s understanding of what examiners are looking for, how marks are awarded, and the common pitfalls students should avoid. I use this knowledge to help my students develop strong exam techniques, structure their answers effectively, and maximise their marks.
I look forward to working with you and your child to build confidence, deepen understanding, and achieve outstanding results in Sociology. With the right guidance, effort, and belief, every goal is achievable.

Farihah is a kind, patient, and wonderful teacher who always knows how to keep a lesson fresh! With her, we have seen massive improvements in understanding, and a growing excitement towards A-level study.
Mature student absent from education for many years. Experienced difficulties completing assignments, achieved only low marks, and felt that I had made the wrong decision entering further education.
Now, after finding the amazing tutor Farihah, who is so patient, my previous assignment pass marks have been transformed into merits.
As long as you’re prepared to put the work in, Farihah will guide you throughout your learning journey. GRFarihah has been teaching my son for little over a year now. I knew that this was a subject that I wasn’t well versed in so when I found out about her, I haven’t regretted it since.
She was recommended by my work colleague as her daughter is doing sociology at A Level too. Farihah has been an absolute dream! She knows how to explain and break things down in ways that are more digestible for my son. He has expressed that he no longer feels behind in class and has a new found confidence. Please don’t miss out on this for your kids.Farihah started tutoring my son in January and if I said I didn’t see a massive improvement I would be lying. My son has ADHD so his learning methods are different to your average child. However Farihah has been great at engaging him and finding how he learns best. His teacher has also mentioned how she has seen an improvement in his homework. I would definitely recommend Farihah to any parent looking for a tutor for their children.
Farihah is an absolute dream! She’s been tutoring my daughter over the last few months now and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in her confidence and work! Farihah’s teaching style and the way she communicates topics has really helped to facilitate a solid understanding in my daughter. I can’t recommend her enough!
