About Tini
An enthusiastic free-spirit that loves creative collaborations.
Having scored high in my French Leaving Cert I always knew that one day I'll go and explore that culture up close and personal. I graduated from IADT (Film&TV Production) and I took off to travel and explore the French countryside. I learned and practiced permaculture gardening methods around the south coast, I spent a sunny winter and a lockdown spring living in Marseille. After that I worked as a digital communications creator for a wellness organisation in a small Alpine village for a year, and I've worked with artists and musicians to create films and digital content.
Since my teenage years I have been a volunteer at Pueblo Ingles, English language camps for Spanish youths.
I have tutored English to French students during my time in France and given French lessons to adults in Malta at a community language cafè. Supporting other people on their journey of language learning fills me with purpose!

Salut !
Je m˙appelle Tini. I went through the process of learning new languages three times. To me learning a language is more than memorising a list of vocab and verb conjugations. It is a delicate brain-changing process that reaches into the soul.
I understand the journey and am eager to support you. Often in the beginning French speaking rules may not seem logical, you will use the wrong expressions time and time again and pronunciation will feel like a task for another lifetime. This is deep work of getting used to a new way of thinking and being!
That’s why to evoke interest and connection I propose interactive lesson plans that connect to the living culture of the language through media, current trends, or topics that you suggest yourself. I like to gently follow the pace of each student, making space to repeat the challenging aspects from a variety of angles.
If you value having the time for having deeper conversations about how the process of learning the language is influencing you, then join along on the journey with me. I am interested in how a language influences our entire life eg. the way we behave, relationships with other people or with our natural environment, with our own body. We can learn and evolve together here, your progress fuels my passion for exchanging.
