About Felix
I have been teaching Latin languages for 14 years, having spent a large part of my career as a classroom teacher and head of department. I lived in France for a total of three years, in Paris and the Loire Valley, and I also lived in Sicily for a year. My undergraduate was at the University of Bath, where I won the dissertation prize on French women's autobiography, and I also hold an MSc in education and an MA in translation. I regularly visit France and Italy, and am often mistaken for a local!

I am an open, good-humoured, and very friendly tutor who caters lessons utterly around you. I'll ask about what music you like, so I can recommend artists in the language you want to learn, as well as what you like doing more broadly so I can find easy entry points for you to improve your understanding and production of language.
In our first lesson, I'll spend time getting to know you and finding out about your motivation to learn a language. Then we will combine grammar lessons with some reading and writing activity to ensure you are confident, happy, and gain fluency in your target language. I adopt a non-judgemental approach that hinges around a good relationship, progress, and establishing foundational knowledge of key concepts of language learning.
