About Reshita

I'm a 21 year old University-level student of English Honours, with additional subjects of Social Science and Women's Studies as my General Electives and a Diploma course in Multimedia and Animation.

I have a one year teaching experience, as a private tutor, and as such have built my teaching professionalism through it. Apart from that, several intra-college activities such as theatre, debates have built my understanding of education outside of the academical constraints. And I wish to inculcate the same into the students I am to teach.

Literature is the only existing subject, with History coming in second, that encompasses subject matters from every discipline that has existed in the academical and non-academical scope. The study of literature is very much Sherlock Holmes or Nancy Drew trying to solve the next Unsolved. It is all about collecting the evidence (reading), look for records in databases or collecting physical evidences (additional reading accompanying the course in hand to better understand the subject like its motive, symbolism, allusion, structure, etc.), analyze and finally, draw an informative conclusion.

My aim is to imbibe the appreciation I hold for this subject in a student and at the same time keep them in pace with the current education system.

About the lesson

Method/Techniques I apply in my teaching process:

Student-centered, personalized and individualized learning, visualization, inquiry-based instruction and behavioral management. The above mentioned methods I implement in teaching and as is reflected, I believe in student's autonomy over a learning course.

Structure of Class:

1) My mode of teaching is strictly online, and will be held on Google Meet.

2)Lesson plan will be structured in a manner that the student not only keeps up with the school syllabus but also has an organic foundation and understanding of the topic at hand.

3) An interactive session will be held after each class to (a) understand the student's understanding of the topic taught on the day, and (b) answer student's own questions and clear any doubts regarding the subject matter.

4) 10 marks test will be taken after completion of each topic, and a 50 marks test will be held one week before the school exam. More details on that on further inquiry.

5) Parents will be mailed a bi-weekly report on their ward's progress and ways they can guide them based on the report.

Special Feature:

I believe in the crucial presence of mental health issues, more prevalent in recent years, and as such I approach students with their mental and physical health in mind.

Apart from English Literature, I'm doing a Diploma in Multimedia and Animation, and completed my General Electives in Social Science and Women's Studies. If the student requires, additional guidance will be provided on these subjects with an increment in fee.

As a bookworm, I believe in the importance of consuming literature outside of the academical scope, and should the parents allow it, a book a week will be recommended to enhance articulation and knowledge.
