About Iovane
My name is Iovane Sakhelashvili and I am a math student at Wash U with 3 years of teaching experience in a wide variety of subjects from math/science to chess. I am a Mathcounts National level qualifier and scored a 34 on the ACT and a 1510 on the SAT plus a 5 in AP Calculus. I have worked with students from 1st to 12th grade and have experience teaching a wide range of ages with an holistic and adaptable approach.

I teach K-12 math and test prep + K-8 contest math through online lessons. My teaching method is based on a holistic, step-by-step approach to learning designed, making sure that the student first understands the topic then further supplements the knowledge through many examples and drills/homework followed by special training to decrease the time it takes to solve a problem. For standard math, the lesson will be a 50/50 spilt between learning the topic and guided examples supplemented by homework due by the next lesson. For test prep and contest math, the emphasis will be on decreasing the time it takes to solve problems through special techniques that are proven to be effective.
