I offer engaging, supportive, and personalised English lessons tailored to each student’s individual needs and learning style. Whether you’re aiming to improve your confidence, strengthen your essay writing, analyse literature in greater depth, or prepare for GCSE exams, I will adapt each lesson to help you achieve your goals. Having recently achieved Grade 9s in both GCSE English Literature and English Language and now studying A Level English Literature, I understand exactly what examiners are looking for and the challenges students face. My lessons focus on developing strong analytical skills, improving written expression, and building confidence in tackling both literature and language questions. I am particularly confident teaching Macbeth, An Inspector Calls, and Purple Hibiscus, having studied these texts in depth and developed a strong understanding of the themes, characters, context, and exam techniques needed to achieve top grades. I can also provide support with GCSE poetry, helping students confidently analyse language, structure, and compare poems effectively. Alongside English Literature, I also specialise in English Language. I can help students develop the skills needed for high-mark responses, including analysing unseen texts, mastering transactional writing, and, in particular, improving creative writing. From crafting compelling descriptions and engaging narratives to using ambitious vocabulary, varied sentence structures, and effective literary devices, I’ll help students write with greater confidence, originality, and flair. I believe learning should be encouraging and enjoyable, creating a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions and making mistakes. Together, we’ll work towards achieving your best possible results while developing a genuine appreciation for English.

Details
I currently offer lessons Monday to Friday from 5:00 pm onwards, with additional availability from 11:00 am onwards on Saturdays and Sundays. I will do my best to accommodate your preferred lesson time whenever possible.
