When it comes to private tutoring, every student is unique, and so is my teaching approach. My goal is to understand your learning style, strengths, and areas of improvement, crafting lessons that are as effective as they are engaging.
Here’s How I Teach:
Interactive Lessons: Learning is never a one-way street. I foster a collaborative environment where students ask questions freely, ensuring clarity and confidence.
Clear Goal Setting: Each lesson starts with clear objectives so you know exactly what we aim to achieve.
Practical Problem-Solving: I emphasize hands-on practice with real-world examples, whether it’s solving complex equations, discussing engineering principles, or refining conversational English.
Step-by-Step Guidance: Complex topics are broken down into manageable parts, making learning less overwhelming and more enjoyable.
Tailored Feedback: You’ll receive constructive, actionable feedback designed to help you improve quickly.
Techniques for Success:
Active Recall: We focus on revisiting key concepts to reinforce understanding and retention.
Socratic Questioning: I encourage critical thinking through guided questions, helping you discover answers and build problem-solving skills.
Visual Aids and Analogies: Difficult ideas are simplified using diagrams, analogies, and examples from everyday life, ensuring concepts stick.
Flexible Lesson Timing: Lessons typically run for around 40 minutes, but I adjust based on your needs and attention span.
About Me:
Qualifications: B.E. in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia.
Experience: Over 20 years of practical expertise in teaching, software development, engineering, and the building industry. I’ve taught in Japan and supported students in diverse fields, from high school physics to university-level marketing.

Excellent! Your patience working through problems with Archie. Thank you.
- Very capable and knowledgeable in both calc and stats already. Its obvious Ashlie is familiar with how to solve problems, just the wording of questions is a hurdle to overcome. Once he understands what is asked for, the solution is a given.Michael's response :
Practice translating past exam paper questions into something familiar may help more than actually solving the problem, which although important, is already a skill he has.
