About ------
I am a student hoping to do Maths at university and I really value the freedom that education opens up. Currently, I am a tutor at Explore Learning and have experience tutoring Maths and English at a wide range of levels, in groups and individually. My students are always fully engaged as work is very interactive and improvement in skill can be seen during their sessions. I have done voluntary mentoring with ReachOut in English and Maths. In addition, I have done voluntary tutoring in GCSE Higher and Foundation Maths to Year 11 students at The Hathershaw College therefore have a lot of experience in teaching 1 to 1. These students saw huge improvement in their performance, and their confidence with class work participation increased significantly. I have a GCSE grade 7 in Maths, an AB in Further Maths and Physics A Levels respectively and a predicted A* in normal Maths A Level. I currently hold a valid DBS certificate which can be shown upon request, so you can guarantee a safe learning environment.

With the unprecedented situation that has been COVID-19, tutoring has never been more important. Students have missed out on imperative learning and are missing essential support from their teachers and I want to be there to fill that gap and help you excel. Everyone deserves the right to a fulfilling education and that is being compromised by lockdowns and quarantine. Performing mundane exercises to be sent over Google Classrooms simply isn't enough, so my job is to give you proper lessons with tailored questions that won't feel like learning by rote. I don't want my students to be afraid to make mistakes as they highlight errors in understanding and can be redeemed with the right tutoring! I like to teach by explaining the reason why the maths works and ensuring students fully understand, so rather than memorising a method, they know it and understand it well enough to replicate. I like to ensure students have enough practice so their knowledge is concrete but I also like to gradually push them out of their comfort zones with tougher problems so they can achieve the best possible grade. My method of teaching can be quite challenging, but one of my focuses that differentiates me from typical classroom learning is that I like to teach creatively and always ensure my students know they can reach whatever level they want to achieve. This makes my students feel able to tackle challenges head on instead of giving up upon making a mistake. Adaptation is the most important as I know students do not all learn the same way, so I can tailor lessons to the students' needs.

I would like to make clear that the discount for a pack of lessons also applies to webcam lessons, it shows up wrongly in information.
