I have a PhD in History with a BA in Education. I am also trained in the fields of Women's Studies, Race/Ethnic studies, and Criminology. I have taught courses in American History, World History, History of the US West/Southwest, Women's History, Race and Ethnic History, and Chicana/o History. I have also tutored students in College Level Writing, History, and Professional Development.

I have experience teaching high school and college level courses. My teaching methods are based on student-centered learning where I guide students through the learning process. I believe students learn best when they play an active, instead of passive, role in the learning process. When tutoring History and Writing, my lessons are structured around helping students learn context, in addition to research methods, writing techniques, thesis development, and proper spelling and grammar.
