About Macy
Hello! I'm Macy and I'm a humanities student at the University of Glasgow. I am originally from the US, but have lived in Glasgow for 3 years. I have a passion for learning and teaching, but completely understand that subjects aren't fun when they cause you stress and make you doubt yourself. I hope that I can help not only with your grades, but with your confidence in the classroom. I have extensive experience in helping people with all things English and humanities. For example, proofreading an essay or creating a study plan for a Classics/Latin exam. Whether you are just needing an extra push or a whole new plan of attack, I am happy to help!

During my lessons, students are heard and supported through any questions or obstacles they face. I like to make sure that teaching feels more like a conversation than a lecture. Students should feel like I am listening to them as much as they are listening to me. Standard lessons are 1 hour long, but I am flexible and can accommodate to your schedule. My experience begins at my role as essay tutor in high school, a point of academic help for any student to rely on. I continued this role for four years and then went on to continue a study of Latin totalling to 7 years of the language. I also took an advanced course in English literature and am able to help with textual analysis and comprehensive reading skills. My degree in Classics has given me extensive knowledge of the ancient world, specifically its literature and visual art.
