About Niamh
I’m Niamh, a fourth-year medical student with an intercalated First Class BMedSci in Cardiovascular Sciences. I teach biology and medicine, and have experience supporting younger medical students and others. I’m passionate about teaching because I enjoy helping students understand difficult concepts, build confidence, and achieve their goals.

My approach to tutoring is student-centred, focusing on building understanding, confidence, and exam technique. I begin by identifying each student’s strengths, weaknesses, and learning style, then tailor lessons to suit their individual needs.
I use clear explanations to break down complex topics, followed by worked examples and guided practice to reinforce understanding. I also incorporate active recall, past paper questions, and exam-focused techniques to help students apply their knowledge effectively. I encourage questions throughout to create a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Lessons typically last 60 minutes, though I am flexible depending on the student’s needs.
I am a 4th Year Medical Student with First Class Honours in an intercalated BMedSci, and I have experience mentoring medical students, tutoring GCSE and A-level subjects, and working with young people in educational settings.
My lessons are suitable for GCSE and A-level students, as well as those preparing for entry into Medicine (including UCAT and early medical school years).
