About Harisvaran
My name is Harisvaran Vimalan and I am currently in my fourth year of study as a dental student. I have a vast experience as a tutor, and understand how daunting GCSEs and other exams can feel. I have developed a system that puts an emphasis on tailoring lessons to the individual learning pace of students. I also focus on examination technique to enable my students to both excel academically, and enjoy their learning.

I tend to initially identify which topics students tend to struggle with the most and, thereafter, I craft a lesson plan accordingly. This usually consists of the following:
1. Introduce a particular concept to my students and ensure they have grasped the key points.
2. Run through some past paper questions with them to see if they can apply their knowledge.
3. Carefully sequence a series of questions for them to attempt on their own to see if they can apply their knowledge to different contexts.
4. Go through the questions together and highlight any points they have missed, modifying their answers according to specific exam technique.
The duration of my lessons are usually 1 hour.
I believe being sound with the content knowledge, and having ample exposure to a variety of past paper questions is what bridges a student from average grades to grade 9s.
