I got honours results in the Leaving Certificate, and graduated from Killester College of Further Education with a Certificate of distinction in Animal Science. I am on my way to receiving a Bachelors degree in Biology and Environmental Sciences in UCD.
I have a background in lab demonstrating first year university students at UCD and tutoring Junior Certificate Science and Maths. I can also tutor Leaving Certificate Higher/Ordinary Level Biology, and Ordinary/Foundation Maths.
Lessons are personalised to the needs of each individual student. During the first tutoring session I discuss the curriculum with the student and what they have and have not covered in school. We will talk about which areas they do not understand and struggle with; these will be the topics we approach first. Usually we follow along the chapters they are completing at school so there is no confusing and then all chapters will be covered before exams. My top priority is to build a foundation of basic understanding of each topic first so we can then build on that knowledge. The most successful way to do is by looking at previous class tests and correcting the mistakes that have been made, and looking at exam papers.
I can assist with study plans and techniques according to the type of learner the student is: visual, auditory, kinesthetics, and reading/writing.
