About Rachel
I spent the past year working as a writing consultant at the Northwestern University Writing Center, where I’ve assisted undergraduate and graduate students at all stages of their writing processes. I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to serve as a sounding board for new ideas, challenging students to bring depth, dimension, and, most importantly, their own unique perspectives into their written work. Of course, critical to this process is the establishment of a supportive, enthusiastic environment where students feel confident learning, growing, and taking risks in their writing. For this reason, I aim to remind students of the joy and discovery that can be found in the writing process, keeping sessions engaging and fun. I believe that, while writing practices can be learned and sharpened, there is something deeply individual and valuable about a writer’s personal voice. Whether we are working on a research paper or a piece of creative writing, I am eager to support students as they discover and engage their personal voices as writers.
